We’re looking for a Studio Manager or Director to manage our very busy studio (preferably from the end of May). It’s a key role at Kava as you will be a member of the leadership team which directs our strategy. You must be able to manage a team of creatives and developers to see through all our print and digital projects on time and within budget and to an exceptionally high standard; liaising with account leads, administration team members and managing director. You will also be liaising with our clients on a regular basis when leading design and production projects.
Skills and responsibilities:
- Manage all studio operations making full use of project management and collaboration tools
- Monitor budgets, studio time and talent resource
- Manage the studio team which comprises our Creative Director, Digital Project Manager, Designer(s) and in-house or remote freelance contractors, setting daily priorities and effectively flexing resources
- Support CPD for the studio team and the growth of the studio
- Check briefs and review work internally
- Curate image libraries and video, artwork and branding assets
- Ensure files are stored and named according to protocols and timesheets are completed effectively
- Manage procurement of print, large format production, subscriptions and tools and organise deliveries
- Knowledge of design and digital development processes is essential
- Familiarity with Adobe applications including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat and Microsoft Office applications including Powerpoint and Word, particularly for corporate branding purposes
- General artworking, press preparation and simple website content updates using WordPress
- Proof-reading skills an advantage
- It goes without saying: extreme organisational skills and the ability to keep calm under pressure
