I’m a bit of a petrol head and write a few columns for lifestyle magazines reviewing cars.
From a classic Mini to a mighty McLaren 720S and the whole prestigious fleet from Rolls Royce, I’ve driven a wide range of cars over the years, hence the theme for this insight.
The iconic dashboard of this 1950s American car reminds me of Kava’s teal colour and has always been a favourite of mine.
Speaking of favourites, the best car I’ve ever owned was, at one and the same time, the worst I’ve ever owned. It was a 2002 Alfa Romeo 156. I loved it, but it was clearly put together at 4.55pm on a Friday before a long weekend, because it was continually going wrong. I even bought some diagnostic cables and Alfa’s own workshop software so I could plug it into my laptop every other week and clear the (long) list of fault codes. Maybe that’s a story for another blog at some point…
I loved that car, but I wasn’t surprised to receive notification 6 months after part exchanging it that it had been scrapped, the garage that took it not being able to sell it!
